Empire Education Group Chairman/CEO, Frank Schoeneman Awarded Top Honor by American Association of Cosmetology Schools

Frank Schoeneman, Chairman and CEO of Empire Education Group, received the 2007 N.F. Cimaglia Award, the industry’s highest honor presented by the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS).

Schoeneman was elected by the American Association of Cosmetology Schools Past Presidents to receive this prestigious award, granted to those in the profession of cosmetology education, which was established in 1975 to honor the dedication of cosmetology schools and in particular, the support of the late Nicholas F. Cimaglia.

i'm a new student and have a friend that was enrolled and started class in August 2008. Her Cosmetology kit contained make-up, totally different nail kit, two curling irons, and a flat iron. I come to find out last two groups have one curling iron, no flat iron, no make up. Why? Not even a textbook too teach make-up. We're paying all this money to be Cosmetologist and not provided adequate utensils. I want to learn everything there is to know about Cosmetology, I wouldn't have enrolled if I didn't. I'm also kind of afraid to give my name I don't want to be kicked out of school for complaining to corporate. I just feel we're entitled to proper equipment to be ALL that we can be...

My daughter recently registered for the Nail Technician class at your school in Harrisburg, Pa. She left a $100.00 deposit and was told if the Sally Mae request for a loan did not get approved, she would get a refund. Unfortunately she was not told she had seven days or their would be no refund. Unknowingly, she applied for the loan, was not approved and then was told their would be no refund because she exceeded the seven days, Yes, my daughter should have read the whole application and not trusted the Sales women to reveal this information, but she did trust her. I am deeply saddened after talking to the Director of Admissions that he was so cut and try, Ha ha to us, and would not refund the money. The honorable thing to do would be to issue a refund and then help her in the near future acquire a loan to attend your school. I also had talked to the sales women about the possibility of myself enrolling for Cosmetology. In a way it is better to lose the $100.00 and gain the knowledge that your school is not honorable with its potential students then to spend a great deal more. I am sure this lack of support is a reflection on the quality of your schools ability to teach Cosmetology and better to find out now.

I do intend to use the internet and other legal means to notify the Harrisburg, Pa. area, Pennsylvania in it's entirety and spread this message to masses as much as legally possible about this situation.

If you feel you can help in any way feel free to contact me at nm_f@comcast.net

My daughter has been enrolled in one of the Empire Beauty schools since August of 09. She is a part time student and attends evening classes at the campus in Greenfield,WI. This truly has to be one of the worst excuses of a beauty school by far. From day one she has had to deal with insubordinate behavior from other students, dirty bathroom facilities, lack of education due to the fact they couldn't keep their instructors. I am sure it is because of the caliper of student they allowed to attend this school. When I say this I mean people that don't give a damn about getting a education and are only her for the government dole! I believe the instructors as well as administration is afraid of the possible personal repercussions from these so called "students". Theft is rampant. Anything from the cash drawer, vehicles to personal items such as equipment used in the day to day curriculum. My daughter has personally had items stolen from her. Her cape, her smock, clips, combs etc. I could go on and on. It's there one minute and gone the next! They would steal the penney's off a dead man's eyes! Terrible! With this type of behavior going on, I can see this school will no longer be in existance in the not to distant future! What a shame. Just like many of the malls in our area. Closed due to the destruction and mayhem of people like this. Mr.Frank Schoeneman, I ask you to seriously look into this matter. Your reputation is at stake.
Just for the record I myself am a hairstylist. I NEVER experienced anything like this in my days of education. It would have NEVER been tolerated. I think the fox is running the hen house in this one!

I am a student at the Kennesaw GA location and when I tell you this school is the worse!!! I would not advice anyone to attend. It's really sad how messy and full of unprofessional drama the comes from the admin(not the students) they lie about our money(I had to call to someone who is over all the schools in GA just to find our the truth about my money!), the gossip, the student teachers "instructor" is amazing! However the student teachers themselves are awful! Can't do a lick of hair, half of them stand up infront of our class(on our dime)and can't so much as speak correctly! We never have product, we were told to have a "pro" dress code of black&white! Haha! I may be one of few who knows what that means, ppl come looking a dusty mess! Students have left for this very reason, I wanted to quit but was told another lie that I would still owe money when in fact I had not even reached my 450. The have us doing street hair do's like; quick weav, sew n's, lock etc... all things that you will get once you get out! We have moments that focus on "state board" not like other schools where once you hit your 250 everything you do is state board! Yes this could be a great school and I see where Mr. Frank and his family who began Empire was going with this school and the advance hair styles that the ones who may need the extra, could use, but the people who run our school make me HATE going to school and to Mr. Frank! All I hear in your video's is how you want us to stay the course and don't give up, well thanks to your awful team of admin at the Kennesaw loaction, I am losing my passion for hair. Yes I'm sure you loved the great show they put on for you when you came to visit recently, but let me be the first to tell you that zoo is NOT ran like that behind closed doors. I know you(Mr. Frank) have 103 schools and almost 150 students per school at 20,000.00 per head! But I am one who am here for the love, and if what you speak about is true to heart, take care of your students better than the people you put in charge of your empire, are doing because I have to pray everyday that GOD help me to walk in that building, not because of anything more than you awful, messy, full of street drama from your admin(again NOT the students).
